Mission Statement                                                            By the grace of God, the people of Ocean Heights Presbyterian Church, a member congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), gather for worship and ministry in the name of Christ.

We joyfully welcome people from all walks of life, celebrating the difference of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, and ability of all people as children of God.

We strive to be the body of the Christ in the world, working for peace and justice for all persons.  We join with people of good faith to address the threats of climate change and the degradation of God’s good creation.

As a progressive Christian congregation, we endeavor to understand and practice the faith we have from scripture, informed by the wisdom of science and the theological and cultural diversity of the world’s people.

We give thanks to God for the community we share in worship and ministry for the sake of a world where love is more possible.

Brief History                                                                     We moved to Egg Harbor Township in 2012 but we've been in the area since 1865. Our story began in a small chapel in Somers Point. In the early 1900's and later in the mid-1960's, due to growth, we moved to two different locations in Pleasantville. We understand faith to be a journey and faithfully and joyfully go where God calls. God is not finished with us yet!  We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) serving in the bounds of The Presbytery of West Jersey.

Our pastor is Rev. Dr. Wm. Blake Spencer, we call him Blake. Blake was born and raised in Texas and has served in ordained positions for 31 years, having served in Arkansas, Texas, and Tennessee. Blake received his Masters of Divinity from the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and his Doctor of Ministry from Southern Methodist University/Perkins Seminary in Dallas, Texas. Blake is the proud father of Wayde and Madeleine and his three grandchildren. Blake lives with his husband Jim and Boo the cat in Cape May County.
